Week Long Kiteboarding Packages

The best way to learn how kiteboard is to come spend a week with Kitty Hawk Kites. Waves Village Watersports offers a unique opportunity to learn how to kiteboard safely in the shallow and sandy Pamlico on Hatteras Island. The 3-bedroom luxury condos combined on property next to the Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding School, make this an ideal and convenient learning environment.

While it’s certainly possible to become a self-sufficient kiteboarder in a few days with perfect conditions, the wind does not always cooperate. The week long stay provides more time for optimal wind conditions, and offers you a little more time to get the extra attention to solidify your skills as a new kiteboarder.

LESSONS, TRAINING & GEAR

The Ultimate Way to Fly is the best lesson package for this week. Once you have completed your lesson plan (3-4 days depending on weather and your progression), you’ll transition to renting equipment and practicing on your own. You will have full access to the full rental setup with Kitty Hawk Kites’ pro shop for the remainder of your stay. Try different boards and harnesses, and of course swap out kites based on your progression and the current wind conditions.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY:

• Day 1 (SAT): Check In @ Waves Village Watersports Resort

• Day 2 (SUN): Fly & Ride Course

  Build and develop vital safe practices and knowledge about kiting and waterstarting with this pivotal foundation course. This day sets you on track for later fine tuning your riding ability on Days 2 and 3.

• Day 3-4 (MON-TUE): Private Instruction

  Progress your new skills learning to extend your ride at your own pace and ability level with your very own personal instructor. Day 3 includes two (2) 2 Hour Private Lessons custom tailored to exactly what YOU need to work on to progress efficiently.

  Polish off your progression with another 2 Hour Private Lesson and then we’ll drop you off upwind for your first crack at kiting on your own with our equipment. We’ll meet you back at the resort to celebrate your first unsupervised riding!

• Day 3-4 (WED-FRI): Kite Concierge Rental

  Don’t stop there! Solidify your skills with a 24 hour concierge rental package. If you’re serious about the sport, this if the perfect way to check out what kind of gear you might be interested in purchasing.
