Golden rules of Power Kiting
- Never underestimate the power of the wind with kites.
- Always read and understand the kite product instructions and safety warnings.
- Always wear appropriate safety equipment for each kite activity.
- Always learn to fly your kite in light winds until you are competent.
- Always observe local rules and regulations before flying your kite.
- Always launch your kite at the edge of the wind window in strong wind.
- Never fly in winds that are too strong for your skill level or equipment.
- Check all your kite equipment for wear and tear before each flight - repair
or replace as necessary or visit your local dealer if unsure.
- Never fly your kite near overhead power cables, overhead telephone
lines, trees, roads, airports, cars, railways or fly kites in extreme weather
conditions, in thunder, in lightning or at night.
- Never tether yourself to any fixed point while flying your kite or
use power kites for paragliding or parascending.
- Test the kite safety system on your first flight and activate it if
you feel you are losing control of your kite.
- Select a safe launching and landing area free of people, animals and
obstacles for your stunt or power kites.
