Golden rules of Power Kiting

  1. Never underestimate the power of the wind with kites.
  2. Always read and understand the kite product instructions and safety warnings.
  3. Always wear appropriate safety equipment for each kite activity.
  4. Always learn to fly your kite in light winds until you are competent.
  5. Always observe local rules and regulations before flying your kite.
  6. Always launch your kite at the edge of the wind window in strong wind.
  7. Never fly in winds that are too strong for your skill level or equipment.
  8. Check all your kite equipment for wear and tear before each flight - repair or replace as necessary or visit your local dealer if unsure.
  9. Never fly your kite near overhead power cables, overhead telephone lines, trees, roads, airports, cars, railways or fly kites in extreme weather conditions, in thunder, in lightning or at night.
  10. Never tether yourself to any fixed point while flying your kite or use power kites for paragliding or parascending.
  11. Test the kite safety system on your first flight and activate it if you feel you are losing control of your kite.
  12. Select a safe launching and landing area free of people, animals and obstacles for your stunt or power kites.
