• 31st Annual Wright Kite Festival
  Kitty Hawk Kites and the Wright Brothers National Memorial sponsor the 31st Annual Wright Kite Festival, held July 11-12, 2009 at the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, NC.
  
  
• Kitty Hawk Kites Kite Jam: June 27-28
  The annual Kitty Hawk Kites “Kite Jam,” a kiteboarding competition, is scheduled for June 27-28, 2009, at the Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort in Waves, NC.
  
  
• Dr. Francis Rogallo Honored with a History Wall
  Kitty Hawk Kites presented a history wall to Dr. Francis Rogallo on Sunday, June 14, 2009, in honor of Dr. Rogallo’s lifetime dedication to improvements in aviation over the past several decades.
  
  
• 2009 Rogallo Kite Festival a Huge Success!
  Kitty Hawk Kites, located in Nags Head, North Carolina, held the 27th Annual Rogallo Kite festival on June 13-14, 2009, resulting in some of the largest crowds to ever attend a kite festival in the Outer Banks.
  
  
• 2009 Kids Days Begin June 10th
  Kitty Hawk Kites is excited to announce the return of Kid’s Day, a free family event held every week at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head.
  
  
• 27th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival: June 13-14, 2009
  Kitty Hawk Kites is hosting the 27th annual Rogallo Kite Festival on June 13-14, 2009, on Jockey’s Ridge and at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head, from 10AM to 4PM each day.
  
  
• Roy Haggard Inducted into the Rogallo Foundation's Hall of Fame
  Roy Haggard, the chief technologist and founder of Vertigo, Inc., was inducted into the Rogallo Foundation’s Hall of Fame on May 17, 2009 for his innovative contributions to the development of aviation.
  
  
• 37th Annual Hang Gliding Competition Successful Despite Weather
  Kitty Hawk Kites held the 37th Annual Hang Gliding Spectacular event over the weekend at Jockey’s Ridge State Park and the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head. The event brought in forty-five hang glider pilots from across the country as well as several spectators visiting the Outer Banks during the weekend.
  
  
• 37th Annual World's Oldest Hang Gliding Event
  Kitty Hawk Kites presents the 37th Annual Hang Gliding Spectacular and Air Games, the oldest continuous hang gliding competition in the world.  This year’s event will be held from May 15th-May 18th,2009 at Jockey’s Ridge State Park and Jockey’s Ridge Crossing in Nags Head.
  
  
• Kitty Hawk Kites Hosting Inaugural Kiteboarding Race
  After opening the Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort in Waves, NC last fall, Kitty Hawk Kites is planning to host the inaugural kiteboarding race, beginning April 25 and continuing through May 2.
  
  
• HQ World Tour Stopping at two Kitty Hawk Kites Locations
  The Powerkites.de World-Tour comes to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to visit Kitty Hawk Kites and offer two days of free demos to the public! April 18th and 19th, from 10AM until 5PM, HQ Kites will be in Nags Head, NC and Waves, NC to show off the new 2009 kite line.
  
  
• 2009 Fly Into Spring and Easter Eggstravaganza Event
  Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head, North Carolina combines the annual “Fly Into Spring” event with the “Easter Eggstravaganza” to create one large celebration for National Kite Month!

• Kitty Hawk Kites to be Featured on Gameshow, The Price is Right
  Kitty Hawk Kites will be featured on the game show, The Price is Right, on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, after donating a kiteboarding package to be used in the showcase portion of the show.
  
  

• Kitty Hawk Kites visits Francis Rogallo on his 97th Birthday
  Kitty Hawk Kites celebrated with Francis Rogallo, an inventor in the aviation industry, who turned 97 years of age.
  

• Kitty Hawk Kites Opens New Kiteboarding Resort
  Kitty Hawk Kites has expanded on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, opening the Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort in Waves, NC, one of the best kiteboarding destinations in the country.

• Kitty Hawk Kites Donates Check to Wright Flight
  Kitty Hawk Kites met with Wright Flight of North Carolina Inc. on Friday, October 17, 2008, to present a check containing the profits of the 2008 Life is good Watermelon Festival held this past August.

• 2nd Annual Life is good Watermelon Festival
  From seed spitting, to potato sack races, to face painting, watermelons will take over the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  On August 14th 2008 Kitty Hawk Kites and Life is good come together again for the 2008  2nd Annual Kitty Hawk Kites Life is good Watermelon Festival, held at the Kitty Hawk Kites and Life is good stores in Nags Head NC, across from Jockey’s Ridge State Park.
  

• Kitty Hawk Kites selected as one of the "Best Outfitters on Earth"
  Kitty Hawk Kites was just chosen as one of the "Best Outfitters on Earth" by National Geographic Adventure magazine. National Geographic Adventure conducted surveys of Outfitters and their customers around the world, with Kitty Hawk Kites being one of them.

• 19th Annual Hanging With Santa and Kites With Lights Celebration
  With the holiday season right around the corner, Kitty Hawk Kites is excited to announce its annual holiday festivities: Hangin’ with Santa and Kites with Lights.

• 3rd Annual Outer Banks Pirate Festival
  Put on an eye patch and draw a sword as pirates invade the Outer Banks during Kitty Hawk Kites’ 3rd Annual Outer Banks Pirate Festival Sept. 15 – 20.

• Kitty Hawk Kites Participates in Hotline's Festival of Trees
  Kitty Hawk Kites recently participated in the annual Festival of Trees event, auctioning off a fully decorated Christmas tree to gain funding for a non-profit organization.
