KITTY HAWK KITES KICKS OFF NATIONAL KITE MONTH WITH A KITE FESTIVAL AND THE LARGEST EASTER EGG HUNT IN THE OUTER BANKS

Nags Head, NC (March 2010) - Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head, North Carolina combines the annual “Fly Into Spring” event with the “Easter Eggstravaganza” to create one large celebration for National Kite Month! The new spring event will be held April 2nd and 3rd, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Jockey’s Ridge State Park, home to the largest living sand dune on the east coast, and the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head, located across the street from Jockey’s Ridge. With fresh spring air and the famous Outer Banks wind, participants won’t want to miss the first event of 2010!

The Fly into Spring Kite Festival is a free event and is open to the public.  On Friday and Saturday, enjoy large show kites on Jockey’s Ridge, including kites over 50’ in size! Kitty Hawk Kites is offering free stunt and power kite lessons throughout the day. Learn to fly dual line stunt kites and quad line power kites! Spectators will also have the opportunity to see kites of various shapes, sizes, and colors decorate the sky throughout the day.

On Saturday, Fly Into Spring will continue on Jockey’s Ridge and the Easter Eggstravaganza will take place across the street at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head. The Easter Eggstravaganza will be held from 10a.m. to 2p.m. and is a fun event for all ages! The Easter Bunny will be at Kitty Hawk Kites for photo opportunities and over 2000 plastic eggs will be hidden for egg hunts, which will begin at 11a.m. The egg hunts will be separated by age groups.
